This is my current work project. For the past few months I’ve been leading the Member-driven movement to clean up the corporate governance failures at my body, CPA Australia. My role is member engagement and communication. The leaders of CPA Australia probably wish I’d go away and leave them alone!
This LinkedIn article I published today summarises the current state of play. It really is hard to fathom how a professional association can get their own compliance and governance so very, very wrong.
Repairing this once-stellar professional body is going to be a MASSIVE change project. It will require a complete Board spill, an end-to-end organisation review and, honestly, the brand will probably still be permanently damaged.
Worth a read to see how NOT to act if your a company director. And for any accountants in public practise, there are things you need to do to ensure you protect yourself and your business.
If you are a CPA who would like to participate in the Board Spill motion, you can do that here.
Yours, in exasperation,
